Session 2: Find and Navigate Key Features in Visio 2010 (working file)

Explore how contextual tabs in Visio 2010 work using this diagram, created as a companion to the Visio 2010 MVP Sessions, Video 2. MVP Sessions Video 2 explores the user interface for Visio 2010, highlighting how common controls are organized in the Microsoft Office Backstage view and how diagram-specific commands appear dynamically in the ribbon. Use this working file to follow along with the video and see how contextual tabs, such as those associated with the included container and image, appear when relevant.

What am I looking at?

The diagram you can see here is a web view of the template, published through Visio Services. Using the controls at the top, you can change which section of the template you see, zoom in or out for a closer or wider view, and even see linked data sources through the shape information pane.

With Visio Services and either Visio Professional 2010 or Visio Premium 2010, you can publish any type of diagram (static or data-linked) to SharePoint, so others can view the diagram without needing to have Visio installed on their machines.
