Project Management sample diagram for Visio 2010

System requirements                   Instructions                   Additional resources                    Online view

Use this Microsoft Visio 2010 sample diagram to see how you could analyze and summarize project data in a visual, easy-to-understand format. This sample shows how the PivotDiagram functionality in Visio can be used to create a hierarchical view of project data. The diagram automatically generates based on a linked or embedded data set.

This sample diagram uses embedded shape data to illustrate two views of how a firm’s efforts to recruit new hires are progressing (by unfilled positions and by recruiter). The embedded shapes used in this sample could also be used to build a scorecard that shows the status of virtually any project or ongoing work stream, such as customer support effectiveness or sales performance.

What am I looking at?

The diagram you can see here is a web view of the sample diagram, published through Visio Services. Using the controls at the top, you can change which section of the diagram you see, zoom in or out for a closer or wider view, and even see linked data sources through the shape information pane.

With Visio Services and either Visio Professional 2010 or Visio Premium 2010, you can publish any type of diagram (static or data-linked) to SharePoint, so others can view the diagram without needing to have Visio installed on their machines.
