System requirements                   Instructions                   Additional resources                    Online view

Use this Microsoft Visio 2010 template to model, track, and manage your customer engagement workflow and identify opportunities for improvement. This template outlines each step in the engagement process, from initial request through to completion, outlining responsibilities by role (including the sales representative, project manager, and development team). The template was created with the cross-functional flowchart functionality in Visio 2010 and includes imported sample data that has been automatically linked to shapes. Shape data graphic parameters have been set to update when changes are made to the underlying data.

By customizing this template, you could use it to analyze virtually any workflow or process—such as IT product implementation processes, manufacturing workflows, or construction projects—by time and by workgroup or resource.

The diagram you can see here is a web view of the sample diagram, published through Visio Services. Using the controls at the top, you can change which section of the diagram you see, zoom in or out for a closer or wider view, and even see linked data sources through the shape information pane.

With Visio Services and either Visio Professional 2010 or Visio Premium 2010, you can publish any type of diagram (static or data-linked) to SharePoint, so others can view the diagram without needing to have Visio installed on their machines.
