    Session 3: Get started with shapes in Visio 2010

    Learn how to create diagrams more quickly by working with shapes in Microsoft Visio 2010. This video reviews several tips for working with shapes more effectively by using keyboard and pointer shortcuts and new features of Visio 2010. It covers shortcuts for duplicating objects, tips for rotating objects, a feature that lets you “glue” shapes to a connection point, and the new Quick Shapes menu, which enables you to quickly add related shapes to a diagram.

    What am I looking at?

    The diagram you can see here is a web view of the template, published through Visio Services. Using the controls at the top, you can change which section of the template you see, zoom in or out for a closer or wider view, and even see linked data sources through the shape information pane.

    With Visio Services and either Visio Professional 2010 or Visio Premium 2010, you can publish any type of diagram (static or data-linked) to SharePoint, so others can view the diagram without needing to have Visio installed on their machines.
