MindTree Ltd. found that generating and distributing employee utilization reports across its seven business units was a cumbersome and time-consuming activity, limiting the value of reports for executives. It developed a utilization dashboard to gather, review, and drill down on business unit utilization data using Microsoft Visio Professional 2010 and Microsoft SharePoint 2010, eliminating the need for manually created performance reports. MindTree was able to reduce the time required to create performance reports by 10 to 20 percent. Also, the real-time utilization dashboards will enable management to make better and timelier decisions.
