Air quality agency improves process management
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District wanted to understand the inefficiencies in its complex, paper-based processes and come up with new, more efficient processes. The agency used Microsoft Visio 2010 to create process diagrams and publish them in a web browser through Visio Services in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, to gain further feedback from a wider audience. Mapping its processes helped the agency gain consistency across the organization. Additionally, the agency expects to adapt to business requirement changes by building new information systems in a matter of weeks or months instead of years.
