Government agency reduces solution development time with no-code Microsoft SharePoint workflow authoring capabilities
The Austrian Ministry of the Interior wanted an electronic order process that would speed up the procurement approval process, reduce the amount of paperwork involved in procurement, and provide a way for employees to see the status of their orders. The ministry used Microsoft Visio Premium 2010 to map the ordering process and create and publish an executable workflow to Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010. Procurement is 66 percent faster with the new process, and using the new SharePoint workflow capabilities in Visio 2010 helped the ministry reduce the development time and cost significantly.
