Visio Services Demo Content Pack
Demonstrate the capabilities of Microsoft Visio 2010 and Visio Services. This demo content pack provides a set of three Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack (SP) 1 virtual machines that you can use to evaluate and demonstrate Microsoft Visio 2010 and Microsoft SharePoint 2010. It covers process, business intelligence (BI), and IT scenarios.

Step 1: Download the 2010 Information Worker Demonstration and Evaluation Virtual Machine (SP1)
from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=27417.

The Visio 2010 Demo Content Pack requires virtual machine “a” (files with names beginning 2010-10a). Virtual machines “b” and “c” (files with names beginning 2010-10b and 2010-10c) are optional. The capabilities in each virtual machine are summarized on the download page.

To use the Visio 2010 Demo Content Pack, you need to download:

Step 2: Follow the instructions in Virtual Machine Setup Guide.docx to install, set up, and keep the 2010 Information Worker Demonstration and Evaluation Virtual Machine (SP1) running.

Step 3: Go to http://aka.ms/v50sq1 in Internet Explorer. This will launch the Site Builder Content Packer Installer tool.

A CMisspelled WordMisspelled WordMisspelled WordlickOnce installer will launch. At the security warning, click Run to continue to the next step.

 
 

Step 4: The Visio Pack Setup wizard will start. Click Next to advance to the next step.

 
 

Step 5: The tool will initiate the process to download the Visio Pack Setup Package. The duration for this step will vary based on your network bandwidth. The tool will download the content pack to the temp folder. After the pack is downloaded, click Next.

 
 

Step 6: The wizard will prompt for administrative privileges. If you agree, click Next. If you disagree, you can exit without installing by clicking the X in the upper right corner of the wizard.

 
 

Step 7: This step selects the target virtual computer for installing the content pack. Using the drop-down box, select the 2010-10a virtual machine installed earlier and then click Run Setup Now.

The Visio content pack image file will attach to the DVD of the 2010-10a virtual machine. When it completes, click Next.

 
 

Step 8: Upon successful setup, the following message will be displayed.

Click Exit to close the wizard. Or, if you wish to make any changes to the previous steps, click Misspelled WordPrevious.

 

Step 9: Log on to the 2010 Information Worker Demonstration and Evaluation Virtual Machine and open the Visio 2010 DVD.

 
 

Step 10: Double-click the Misspelled WordMisspelled WordMisspelled WordAutoRun batch file. This will launch the content pack installer.

 
 

Step 11: The batch file will open a command prompt. Press 1 to select option 1 - Add Content Pack and follow the instructions prompted by the content pack. The location of the file containing the Visio content pack is specified as part of the PowerShell script launched from the Misspelled WordMisspelled WordMisspelled WordAutoRun batch file.

 
 

Step 12: Upon successful execution of the previous step, press 2 to select option 2 - Install Content Pack. Type the number corresponding to the Visio Services Demo content pack and press Enter.

 
 

Step 13: Once the content pack has installed, the http://intranet/sites/visio URL will launch. This is the Visio 2010 demo environment.

2. This content pack will work only with http://intranet.contoso.com/sites/visio or http://intranet/sites/visio. Changing the target URL will result in broken links.
